Parking:

There is limited parking at the church for people with mobility issues - please let us know if you need to use this by calling Carol or Liz on 01969 663026. Please note this parking is not restricted to Blue Badge holders. Anyone who finds walking up or down the hill to the car park difficult is welcome to ask. If you are bringing someone who finds walking difficult feel free to drop them at the church gate or main door and then use one of the parking alternatives.

Free Parking:

ydnp carppark mapTap for larger mapThe Yorkshire Dales National Park have kindly offered us the use of the carpark at the Aysgarth Falls visitor centre for free parking. You should ensure you leave a copy of your concert ticket on the dashboard (or at least a note saying you are attending a concert at Aysgarth Church operated by Wensleydale Concert Series).

It is a short walk to the church but it does involve a fairly steep hill with steps. My suggestion is to enter the carpark and park as far from the entrance as possible. There is a short surfaced footpath with wooden handrail from the carpark leading down to the road at the upper falls (much shorter than walking from the main car park entrance). Carefully cross the bridge and directly in front of you (between the mill and the cottages) are steps and a path up to the church. Please take care - these steps can be slippery in wet weather. If you prefer you can take the longer route from the bridge up the road to the church gate.

If you are bringing less mobile people to concerts I suggest you drop them at the church and then return to park your car.

RCP Falls Carpark next to the church:

Until last year RCP has allowed us a concessionary rate of 1 hour parking for concerts at the Falls carpark. Recently the machines and online systems have been altered with minimum payment being £4 for 2 hours. They have not informed us that the minimum charge concession has been withdrawn which implies the concert charge is £4 for now (note this is subject to change). Their application for planning permission to install number plate recognition cameras and lights to enforce charges has been formally withdrawn following local objections and as far as we know the parking attendent is no longer present in the evenings (if at all).

If, for convenience and/or speed, you prefer to park at the usual RCP carpark please note only card payments are now accepted (no coins). You can also book parking in advance via their website here or use their app on your Apple or Android phone (carpark ID is 808096). The phone apps are probably the easiest and quickest way of booking parking, as once you have set up your account you can use it each time but apparently there is an extra serrvice charge for paying online (which was not made clear).

Ideally leave a note or a copy of your ticket on the dashboard to avoid any confusion if an attendant is present.

For individual concerts there may be other nearby alternatives - we will update this page as necessary.

Facilities:

Access and assistance is available for visitors with disabilities.

Toilets are available at the rear of the church.
